The apartment, in which also your host lives and works, dates back to the 1870s and has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, combining the very best of old and new on 80 square meters. Enjoy the wooden floors, stucco ceilings or a modern lift for easy access. The guestroom can accommodate either one or two travelers as being equipped with a double bed. Take advantage of the brand new kitchen, complete with dining table, oven, fridge and freezer for your self-service.

For your non-binding booking request, please use the booking request form. If the guestroom is available, you will be asked for a pre-arrival deposit of 50 EUR, which will be transferred right back to your bank account on the day of departure. Make sure you transfer this deposit in case you want to secure your booking. As soon as the deposit has arrived, you will receive a final booking confirmation via email. If you cancel your booking before arrival, the deposit will not be paid back. In case of no-show without prior notice, you will also be charged all nights booked.
Upon arrival, you must pay for the full duration of your stay in cash (Euro). A bill can be issued upon request. It does not contain VAT. If you depart earlier than the intended date of departure, you will not get any refund of that amount. You will receive a key to the flat, as well as one which locks your guestroom should you so wish. Please take care not to lose these – otherwise there is a charge for replacing the key. The same accounts in case room equipment is damaged and needs replacement.
If you are hungry, just help yourself. Cereals, tea, coffee, cocoa and much more are waiting for you. Needless to say, you are welcome to store your own items in the fridge. Feel free to use all cutlery, glasses and plates in the kitchen. Additionally, there are a number of bakeries as well as restaurants, bars and bistros in the neighbourhood serving all day.
You can arrange your check-in individually upon request. The room should be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. You are welcome to leave your luggage in the flat to collect later.
Discover Berlin on foot. You will be surrounded by breathtaking world-class architecture and conveniently located near Friedrichstraße, the very heart of Berlin. This superb location puts you in immediate proximity with all the delights of this cosmopolitan city, such as the famous Gendarmenmarkt or the Boulevard Unter den Linden. So put on your walking shoes and discover Berlin as it unfolds beneath your feet. To put it simply: You couldn't possibly ask for anywhere more central. The ideal spot to take in both historic sights and modern marvels!
Your room is conveniently connected to Berlin's public transport. ‘Nordbahnhof’ S-Bahn (suburban railway) station is just a stone’s throw away, ‘Naturkundemuseum’ U-Bahn (metro) station less than a 5 minutes walk on Invalidenstraße. Three different tram routes stop in front of Nordbahnhof. One of them, M-10, serves Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain day and night. Bus 245 serves ‘Berlin Hauptbahnhof’ (the main railway station), running every 10 minutes with a 7-minute journey time. Taxis are waiting in front of Nordbahnhof. Supermarkets, post office, cash machine, pharmacy, car or bicycle rental available nearby. There is a public indoor swimming pool in the vicinity, on Gartenstraße.
To get to Prenzlauer Berg (restaurants and nightlife), take tram M-10, which stops right next to ‘Nordbahnhof’ S-Bahn station in front of the house. After 10 minutes get off at ‘Eberswalder Straße’.
Want to go shopping at Kurfürstendamm in Schöneberg, take in West Berlin’s sights and the gay quarter? Use S-Bahn from ‘Nordbahnhof’. Change at ‘Potsdamer Platz’ for U-Bahn U-2. Get off at ‘Nollendorfplatz’ or ‘Wittenbergplatz’. Journey time: 20 minutes.
Looking for the Berlin Exhibition Centre (’Messe’), Convention Centre (’ICC’) or the Olympic Stadium? Take S-Bahn S-1/S-2 from nearby ‘Nordbahnhof’. Change at ‘Friedrichstraße’ for S-9 or S-75 to ‘Messe Süd’/‘Olympiastadion’.
From Tegel airport take Bus 128 to ‘Kurt-Schumacher Platz’, then U-Bahn U-6 to ‘Naturkundemuseum’ (alternatively by Taxi: 20 to 25 EUR). Journey time: 25 minutes.
Arriving at Schönefeld airport, get on either S-Bahn S-9 or a regional train (’Flughafen-Express’) to ‘Friedrichstraße’. Change for S-Bahn S-1/S-2 to ‘Nordbahnhof’ (alternatively by Taxi: 35 to 40 EUR). Journey time: 40 minutes.
From railway station Berlin Hauptbahnhof take Bus 245 till it terminates at ‘S-Nordbahnhof/Gartenstraße’. A short journey ‘Kurzstrecke’ ticket (1,30 EUR) will suffice. This final stop is located almost right across the apartment. Journey time: 7 minutes.
Parking (subject to charges) is available right outside the apartment or for free in Gartenstraße – a side street. Bicycles or motorcycles can be left safely in the building’s private courtyard. There are supermarkets nearby as well as a large public swimming pool including sauna.
